10km Dual 33kV & Fibre Installation – Livingston
Cappers Ltd successfully delivered a complex 10km dual 33kV cable and fibre route in Livingston as part of a major windfarm connection scheme. Approximately 90% of the works were undertaken within public highways and residential streets and 10% in agricultural ground, requiring careful planning and strong coordination with stakeholders.
Our scope covered full delivery from end-to-end, including:
• Local Authority engagement and traffic management planning
• Excavation and installation of dual 33kV power circuits
• Fibre ducting with sub-duct systems for future resilience
• Construction of carriageway communications chambers
• Complete backfill and asphalt surface reinstatement to specification
• Strict compliance with utility and highway authority standards
The project was completed ahead of programme, with zero installation issues and no significant highway defects, demonstrating the strength of our in-house civils capability and quality-driven reinstatement approach.
